You made History lessons worth staying awake for when all I want to do is sleep.

I remember in Form 4,one day, we weren't in the mood to study. We switched off the lights in the class and we ALL pretended to be asleep before you entered class. When you entered, you were cool and didn't scold us but went on with it. I had really long hair then and I pretended to be Ju-On to scare you but instead Capri got scared and cried. Of course then we had to eventually 'wake up' and get on with our lesson but you were the coolest teacher I know.

I remember your Golden Words come exam times.
I remember one time, this time in Form 5, when your Golden Words weren't so Golden, Sze Keat went around class distributing old newspaper to crumple and throw at you. When you came into class, we ALL threw crumpled newspaper at you for misinforming us about the exam. You didn't get mad. And we all laughed about it. It was one of the most memorable moments I have in high school and you made it possible.

And I went thru some pretty hard times during high school and was sent for counselling with you. You made me feel so comfortable. You really cared about what I had to say and listened as I cry. I never thanked you enough for that.

In fact, I don't think I have ever thanked you personally.

I heard the news about you having cancer on last Thursday. I felt sad. I felt guilty for not keeping in touch. I wanted to say a prayer for you.
I didn't, and now it's too late.

I know you are in a better place now. I just want you to know that you lived a good life, you made an impression in my life. And I am sure many others would agree with me. You will be missed and may you rest in peace.

When She Does Cook

I don't normally cook. Heck I rarely cook. Well, prolly because I can't cook.(nope, not even Maggi Mee, something just always manages to go wrong-not enough water/too much water, noodle too soft/too hard etc.)

But I do know how to cook one thing. Pasta. Well, sorta, it's edible so it's considered cooking. Right?

And I only started cooking this because mom was in France for 3 weeks and I am the eldest of two daughters, didn't want daddy to starve while mommy was away.

Let me briefly brief you on a 'How to'
(Do not attempt this at home, I am NOT a professional)

First and foremost, I must profess my love for Streaky Bacon.

I LOVE STREAKY BACON!

Okay, now that's over and done with. We begin.

Mom wanted me to use EVOO (extra virgin olive oil, and yes, I watch Rachael Ray)but I scoffed at her suggestion. Also, moms are ALWAYS out to spoil your recipe.

I trim the fat off the bacon and fry them. Fry them until oil oozes out (also, I have no clue on how to use cooking lingo so yeah)Refer to pic below.

Part of the reason why I don't cook (aside from the fact that I can't) is that it's kinda boring. SO I had Channel V on (yes I run from pan to TV while I cook, no glamor TV in the kitchen all) La Roux was on at that particular moment when my pork fats was crackling happily in the pan. (Mom disapproves of such unhealthy fats but again, moms are out to get your recipes)

After the fatty bits of the bacon is crispy and ready, scoop it out and leave the oil. We then add the rest of the bacon to the oil and fry! Refer to pic below.

Some people would say a family that cooks together say together. What was the rest of my family doing while I slave on the stove?

Once the bacon are a bit the red red, add button mushrooms (oh cut them beforehand, mine came from a can)

Then I add my special secret recipe sauce in and stir.

Fine, it's not a secret and not so special. It's Prego's instant sauce something something.The pic would have given it away anyways. And that, is pasta, boiling. (pic below)

AND THIS IS HOW THE FRIED FATS LOOK LIKE!!!

Once the concoction begin to simmer a bit bit, you add cheeeeeeeeeeeese (I don't fancy cheese much but when you cook, you ask the majority)

Some people do sports and all for exercise and to sweat and all, I cook. And karaoke. And oh, one other thing.

This is getting boring. SO we fast forward to when the pasta is done and we add it to the sauce and VOILA!

This is where I lay back and stare at my fried bacon fats and take pictures of it.

Look at how oily it is. How gorgeous!

One last fuzzy look at it before it ends up in my stomach and which in turn will go on to clog my arteries.

Today was one of those Sunday.

I must admit it started out like any other Sunday but it became progressively better.

I was lazing in the house not wanting to take a shower or go out. But I managed to drag my big backside out the door. And after showering too. ;p

And this is also one of those days when you regret NOT taking your camera with you.

Yes, warning for bad photos ahead.

When you DO take your camera with you, nothing ever happens. Yes life does that sometimes.

Went to The BF's place for a chill out Sunday but he had other plans. One that does not involve letting me know what until we reached our destination. Oh jolly!

He did say one thing tho, 'You brought your camera right?'

Darn!

Trust me, I guessed and I guessed and I am normally very good at it but today was a GOOD surprise.

We went on the MEX and I guessed KLIA. Not before guessing Midvalley, Old Klang road, Capri's house and so on.

We ended up in Putrajaya. It was my first time there. Surely we are going to Alamanda because he has mentioned this a few days ago when we were booking our movie tix and he booked for a movie earlier on.

But NO, that is NOT it.

And I must admit, I wouldn't have guessed it.

He brought me to a flower festival!

Romantic right?

We walked around, hand in hand, looking at displays after displays of flowers. The weather was hot but not too terribly hot, Sun was just nice and bright.

I was elated!

Then we saw the pristine (almost- well maybe not so) waters. Sunlight was reflecting off the calm surface and there was a certain allure to it.

We saw boats on it and The BF said we should go on one. And we did!

The Perahu Dondang Sayang cruise on Tasik Putrajaya. We got the entire boat to ourselves. Yay!

We walked around some more.

Until they started the HOT AIR BALLOONS!!! I saw it and ran towards the direction!

The BF got me a SpongeBob SquarePants balloon instead! YAY! You can tell that I am a happy kid!

We drove out of Putrajaya towards the sunset. Which was gorgeous! Putrajaya really is under rated. From afar, we see the haze/pollution that hangs over K.L skyline as we drew closer.

The BF and The Sponge. SO cute kan? We watched Ghosts of Girlfriend Past at One U before going our separate ways.

But that was NOT the end of SpongyBobbi's journey...

I took him to ANDALUS!

Babysitting Brandon

I was given (well more like I took it upon myself) the task to get Brandon to his haircut.

YES! Cut his hair! Heavy duty I tell you.

The day started with me waking him up at noon. Prior to that I had to follow mom to work so that I can drive her car back and drive our Master Brandon around for the day.

Making an appointment was a hassle because HE IS SO FICKLE that I had to cancel and reschedule. Plus it was a Friday so it was hard to get a slot. But I begged and begged until I got one! At 6 p.m!

You see, Brandon had to tell his mom that Shannon is taking him to his haircut. Failing to do so or if the haircut proves disastrous, Shannon is to blame is his mom got angry. What a friend kan?

So after a short stop at college (Brandon) and gas station (Shannon), we were off to The Trinity! It's what I call Ikea, Ikano, and Curve.

Since the appointment is due late evening. I had to find ways to distract him.

First of! We went for lunch (DUH!). Best way to get to Brandon is to FEED HIM!

Can you believe he hasn't been to Ikea's cafeteria. Had meatballs and sorts for lunch! His mood improved much!

Then we went around looking at furniture. Pretending that we are married and picking out things for our imaginary house in Damansara. Squabbling about whether or not to have kids.

We were in one of MY FAVOURITE display room in IKEA. Yes I stalk IKEA.

But he knew what lies ahead. Take note of his pants now.

So after IKEA, we went to Ikano. We went to the pet shop to look at cuddly things in the forms of puppies and manja snakes. Yes I also stalk my three month old albino phyton.

But as 6 p.m drew closer I took better precautions. SO I bought him his very own ice- cream in a very loooooooooong time.

Imagine taking out your 3 year old cousin/son/nephew out for ice- cream and you would feel that you were right there when this pic was taken!

But you can only put off 6 p.m for so long so off we (well I) drove to The Place at Damansara Perdana.

Tasha owns a saloon called Goldilocks and she is amazing. Which is why I suggested her for the deed. Ring me if you want her number. ;)

This was right before getting the haircut. Look at those puppy eyes. Poor thing was holding back tears. He tried running away a few times.

Later that night, Brandon told me that his mom likes it and gave him a hug because he cut his hair.

Brandon is leaving to Johore then Langkawi for a week. :(

Random Night Outtings With The Boys

It was just another night at our usual hang out spot- Andalus

Then someone said- Let's go to Genting!

Everyone else? YES!

And so the journey begins. Four guys and a girl. Off to Genting. Having said that, you'd think they'd know the way. We didn't have any trouble getting there but you should have heard the squabbling.

Yes that is my feet. And yes he enjoyed it.

Now what is a road trip without any grub? We stopped at Big M and got something to munch on (fries and ice-cream) while listening to some nice music courtesy of Jia Nern.

Upon arrival Brandon decided to lie on the road since it is 2 a.m and not many cars.

But of course Seth wouldn't miss a chance to join in the 'relaxation'

Brandon was a bit hyper that night. Jumping up and down with suicidal thoughts.

'Why don't we go real fast and then pull the hand break?'

'Too bad the cliff is on the OTHER side of the road'

To come to think of it, they haven't!

It was a very cold night. With strong winds. Everyone was hopping the first few minutes.

You know how boys eats a lot? Our first stop was KFC but we brought along our OWN sake. Fine, Hwang brought the booze.

Seth came straight from his interview. Yes! he got the job!

We all decided to sit on the road. It was a very chilly night. We all had hard nipples. Well I checked mine but it wasn't as hard because I had a bra on. DUH!

Yes, there WERE car(s) that late at night!

I played songs on my phone and Seth decided he wanted to Watlz. ~~Of course neither of us knew how.~~ But you don't know that and the pic looks good so I prolly shouldn't have mentioned it in the first place.

We were all just chilling and enjoying each other's company.

Then we discovered we could take shots like this!

This was the favourite shot of the night.

The trip back was quiet. But we did sing-a-long to a few tunes. Everyone was relaxed and satisfied.

Jia Nern's car has a sun roof and it was open so I decided to stick myself out it. It was amazing!

The cool night air brushing past your face with such gentleness that does not match the ferocity it sounds like.

We did turn off the lights of our car at some parts and I cannot begin to describe how I felt.

Awesome.

Since the others all parked their cars at Andalus, we had to go back there. Guess what?

They were still open at 4.30 a.m! Well, for us anyways.

It was the perfect ending to an amazingly awesome night.

When life gives you lemon, be glad you have friends good enough to help you eat them all away.

This was on our trip back- a loooooooooooog trip back-2 hours ferry ride- 6 on bus- and 3 hours in between- but my Team Killing Zombie was eager as I was to play a few game of L4D at Mersing while waiting for the bus =P

We reached K.L just after midnight and it was U Jin's Bday- so we sang him a song...

So I have been way out of touch in the World of Formula One. But I missed the first GP of the season! ARGH!!! The annoyance! And I heard it was a good race too. Hamilton as usual was phenomenal, but Trulli takes home the cake this time. This is purely from reading about the race and I haven't actually watched it. Yet. If ever.

Brawn did good. Annoyingly good. My only consolation is that they are in fact, some parts Mercedes. And that's more that I can say for Ferrari, heck even STR- Ferrari did better. Having said that I am utterly disappointed with McLaren's Finnish driver. When will he ever get better? I use to have such high affection for them Finnish driver, I miss you Hakkinen!!! Come back Raikkonen!!!

Anyways, just thought I'd write about my wannabe thoughts on F1 today.

Or it could just be another way to avoid completing assignment.

Today was one of those days that started off bad but got progressively better.

And yes I WILL bore you with the details.

So I woke up after falling asleep without finishing my Public Speaking. A first if I may add. Then again it was prolly because I snooze thru it's insignificance.

Tummy wasn't being nice to me all morning, neither was the bile threatening to come up my esophagus. Plus I was sleepy and I still had to study for MC 202. I didn't even eat until much later.

And then I decided to stop boring you.

So Sophie Kinsella contributed a large part in my Shopaholic tendency and I have written about my addiction in previous posts. I also put it to her the reason for my taste in Brit men and unnecessary name dropping and all things designer.

Having said that, I have never missed a single book from the Shopaholic, I even read the odd book Kinsella wrote when she didn't feel like writing about shopping: 'Can You Keep A Secret' and 'Remember Me?'. I am always one of the first to read her newly published books and imagine my joy when I heard they are making the movie.

I lied. I usually dread book remakes. They make me nervous.

I had the opportunity to watch the premier of 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' yesterday and really, a show like that can do no wrong. Well, not much at least.

Step 1: Look for an actress with hot body
Step 2: Take incredibly hot Brit actor, in this case, Hugh Dancy. HOT! I want!
Step 3: Load show with tonnes of nice clothes! I only really liked a few pieces really.
Step 4: Add humor and mix.

It was a fairly enjoyable movie with many 'Oohs'. Mostly for Hugh Dancy, red dress and ample of shoes. And lotsa laughs too.

One thing I must note is the colors in the movie. I loves! I love how a blue dress is matched with an oversized lilac purse. I LOVE matching mismatched colors because I was never a believer of same colored clothes, accessories, shoes, and bags. They don't clash but they don't have to be the same.

So go watch the movie.

My teen hormones are on an overdrive. Prolly giving an extra good run on their last laps before making way for the not-so-teen-no-more-but-a-young-adult hormones to take charge of the almost 20 year old body of mine.

It's both bad and... well, it's only bad. I have been gushing over boys.

Yeah, I know boys, weird ain't it? It's like my body is working backwards. I used to gush over older guys (Hugh Grant, Ben Barnes, Ralph Finnes, Colin Firth) but now I have fallen for boys (Sean Bourke, Tom Sturridge, Aaron Johnson, Robert Pattison)

But they do have something majorly in common, they are mostly Brit or something to that effect (I so obviously mean their accents).

All the chick flicks isn't exactly helping either.

Yeah, you'd think I would tell the world about my terminal disease? I am more of the silent sufferer.

So I haven't been fair to myself lately, I am having a good streak this past week. I am just being a martyr. Let's work our ways backwards shall we?

Left 4 Dead is currently my favourite LAN game to be played at Tbun with Seth and Hwang. They are what I call my boys. We went to Jogoya for brunch today and Hwang spend on me. Ta Hwang! Funny how I never had a chance to dine in Jogoya and when I finally did, it happened twice in a month. Honestly? I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Prolly to people I dislike. That much I can do.

Then we walked around Pavillion before we got a ride back to Hwang's. Drifted in and out of sleep while Hwang played DJ. I adore his camera. Me want a Leica for me self!

Then we went for chili pan mee near Kayu, again two thumbs down. I prefer Kin Kin's in K.L. Gamed for 2 hours then off to Kayu for a break then continued for another hour. I damn tak puas lor but everyone tired, so we lok-lok-ed and Hwang sent me back.

I had so much fun today being a boy again. :) Will miss it the next 6 months. :(

P.S: I am rather good at Left 4 Dead, if I do say so myself. ;)

Tis' was the last Saturday for the Svrcula brothers in K.l for a while so off we went to Zouk for Mambo Jumbo. Awesome shit I might add. Just the night I needed to get out of my 'depression'.

I wore my high waisted jeans with a black tube top and a red studded belt. Paired with Christian Dior bag.

The first 5 minutes were awesome. Then I thought they've lost it. But by the end of episode three, I cried.

Just got hold of OTH S6 and looks like my Holiday Reading List will be cut short.

I had a giggly girly girls' day today with college mates. Jehan's b'day (only 18), so Nikko, Aqila, Elaine, Ernest and I went for dinner then movie at Sunway Pyramid. IWe decided to watch Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging (been dying to) and good thing Ernest had to leave. We had an absolute blast! It's one of THOSE movies. The opening reminded me of Juno but for the most part I was reminded of being 13 again. We giggled, shrieked, laughed, hushed and gushed at all the right scenes. Clapped to.

Sigh.

I find it depressing that I get depressed in the month of December. Maybe it's the jaded part of me. The cynical prolly. But It's also the fact that I'm turning a year older soon. Sigh.

Sometimes I want to write something inspirational and I know I can but the eloquence of my heart cannot translate the same into words.

Vintage Love/ Obsession

And it's all ah Wong's fault!

So I met up with Amanda Ng who's back from Singapore but only for a week. Had lunch just the two of us because the Wong is still asleep.

We started browsing before the arrival of Wong but nothing got much of our attention, that is until, we arrived at ShowPink's Christmas Junkyard Sale @ Bombshell Salon.

All hell broke loose! There were tonnes and tonnes and heaps and heaps of vintage/ pre-loved/ whateveryouwannacallit clothes! BTW, did I mention I already took a bold step by purchasing my first ever black and white vintage handkerchief dress from an online shop and was wearing it today?

I went crazy and spent hours at only one shop! VintageBiriBiri! Thank you Jennifer for the generous price! I got not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5 BUT SIX dresses! And guess how much? It's too obscene to mention (RM^%!). And I haven't even venture deeper into the shop yet but I did find another shop with a lot of gorgeous clothes but we were all parched so we decided to take a tea break.

But the tea break stretched and we all had to go. But Goh and Wong decided to go to Fleur De Lis to check it out. After the vintage pricing, everything else seemed 'pricey'. So we got a belt each and Wong an additional vintage top.

All in all a good day. I was skipping all the way back to my house. How come no pictures? Well, we were too engrossed in our shopping that we only realized shortly before going home. Yes, that was how good it was.

P.s: I wanna go back there tomorrow but got family functions! How?!?!?!

A BlackBerry- Now the Storm reminds me of the iPhone which I don't have much of a liking for because I have fat fingers BUT it does the vertical/horizontal thingy so I can imagine using a Sidekick, which is not available in our blessed country but nvm that.
Gyrotonic Classes- I need it. Desperately. T-O-N-E! But then again I'll settle for a year's subscription at a gym.
A Hybrid Car- Well, when I get my driver's license, eventually, I would want one. In shinny red, like an apple in the glistening Sun.
Edward Cullen- Yes, I am not over it yet so get over it.

I have Obssesive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Which currently became Obssesive Cullen Disorder.
But it really shoud be (CDO) because it is alphabetically correct.
On a different note, I LOVE Call Of Duty but suck terribly in it.
I am attracted to older men. Boys are like toys to me.
I am a born loner. I find it hard to tolerate people most of the time.
I am hungry ALL THE FREAKING TIME. It's very hard to find a time when I am NOT hungry.
I sweat a lot. Like no one's business. An hour on the transporter makes me look like I have came out of the shower without drying up.
I have been on TV when I was a kid. Twice in fact, for kids' game shows. In fact I was offered roles to act in TV shows but I refused thinking education was more important. Pffph!
I cry a lot. I blame it on my heavy sense of apathy. I don't find weakness in tears.
I want to be proposed through The Haka but then again, it might just be a phase.
I feel I have been moving backwards in life. I was more successful when I was younger and am becoming more useless as I age.

My dream life is to have kids and be a home maker.

It's a Chinese TV series. Yes. The dramatic ones. This one is pretty good and addictive. Even my dad is glued to it. That's saying something. Mother, sister and I cry quite often to it.

Anyhoos, I prolly started watching it in the first place because I was longing for Eclipse. And guess what? I'm getting a copy!!! Flown all the way from The Land Down Under! Yay! Yay! Yay!

The Haka

It's been a while but my adoration and admiration for the performance of this particular Maori dance ESPECIALLY done by New Zealand's Rugby Team All Blacks.

You could see as the dance is performed, the opponents are shitting in their pants from across the field.

I do not support war or any form of violence but the cries of men and women while doing the chant is enough to make anyone courageous enough to face what is ahead.

One of the things to add to my to do list, learn and perform the Haka (prolly Ka Mate). Plus point if I can learn it from the Maori people. Then I can cross off sky-diving, always thought of it as more of a chore.

Another point, I want to be proposed to The Haka. I find it ironic. Really. But that is for my own thought to ponder.

P.S: I wonder if vampires have any cultural dances I can learn?

The weather was good. It has just rained. I headed out with a book in hand. I walked to the train station. I bought a ticket.

People were making their ways home. I was packed like a sardine into close proximity of dozens. Many skin and mine became a stretch of seamless continents. So close, yet no one talked. No one knows the woes, foes, sores of the skin they pressed against. Because no one cared.

I got off at Bangsar. I made a friend with a stranger. Ira. She works in Big M. We walked together to Jalan Telawi.

I Finally Decided What I Wanna Be...

Yup. It's taken me almost 20 years and I finally know now:

I cannot believe I am saying this because I have scrutinized and even judged everytime I see 'Twilight' being carried around by adoring fans and I smirk everytime people compared it to Harry Potter (I'd like to be a Witch too!). But you know how things like this in life comes back to bite you in the arse.

The movie came out and Nikko had offered me the book moons before yet I was not keen. Since I do not do well during exams, I found ways to 'distract' myself (online shopping requires money!) by picking up on the offer.

Boy I fell, and I fell hard. I only ever wanted to be Harry's best friend but now I just want to be with Edward!

No, I haven't finish the book. And as a standing principle (sorry Tolkien), I do not watch a movie without reading the book first (well, most of it), so I have NOT seen the movie. Sigh.

And guess what? I am right smack in the middle of finals. What a way to be sucked into the saga? I blame you Stephenie. And if I am never normal again (well, as normal as I can usually be), you can also blame her.
